We’re in Good Company

There is a lot to be excited about in Old Orchard this time of year.  Not only is the Webster Groves Framers Market still going strong every Thursday from 3pm-7pm, but it seems like we are surrounded by some of the very best shops and restaurants in St. Louis……..at least that is was the Riverfront Times has to say:

RFT Best Bookstore – Independent 2010 – Pudd’nhead Books

Don’t walk into Pudd’nhead Books looking for an indiscriminate hodgepodge of every book ever written on a particular subject, piled up like so many boxes of drill bits at the Home Depot. Owner Nikki Furrer and children’s and young-adult buyer Melissa Posten have carefully edited their stock, so they sell only the most essential books in every category.

RFT – Best Waffle 2010Tropical Moose (Walk-Away-Waffle)

Last winter Jack and Pat Williams, owners of the on-site shaved-ice stand known as “Tro Mo” (for Tropical Moose), decided to experiment with a new seasonal creation: the Belgian waffle. Not just any waffle, mind you. This hot, faintly sweet disc of dough comes dusted with raw sugar and is nothing short of divine. The Williamses never planned to offer the Walkaway Waffle once the weather warmed, but so many waffles were, in effect, walking off, that the couple decided to extend the season.
